Instructions to Reviewers
Peer review is a cornerstone of academic publishing. As a reviewer for The Journal of Informatics, your role is to critically and constructively evaluate submitted manuscripts, ensuring they meet scholarly, ethical, and methodological standards. Your feedback helps authors improve their work and assists the editorial team in publication decisions.

Key Expectations from Reviewers

  • Maintain confidentiality: Manuscripts under review must not be shared or discussed outside the review process.
  • Ensure objectivity: Evaluate the paper fairly and without personal bias.
  • Provide constructive feedback: Help authors improve the clarity, accuracy, and quality of their research.
  • Adhere to deadlines: Please submit your review within the requested timeframe (usually 2–3 weeks).
  • Disclose any conflict of interest: Notify the editor immediately if your ability to provide an impartial review is compromised.

Review Criteria
Please consider the following aspects during your review:

  1. Originality and relevance to the field of informatics.
  2. Clarity of research problem, objectives, and significance.
  3. Methodological soundness: Is the design appropriate and adequately described?
  4. Literature review: Is it current, relevant, and comprehensive?
  5. Data analysis and interpretation: Are results valid, reliable, and well-discussed?
  6. Contribution to theory or practice: Does the manuscript offer new knowledge or perspectives?
  7. Language and formatting: Is the writing clear, and does it follow the journal’s style?

Review Outcome Options
You will be asked to recommend one of the following:

  • Accept as is
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Major revisions required
  • Reject

Your detailed comments (anonymous to the author) should justify your recommendation and guide the author for improvement.

Ethical Considerations
Report any indications of:

  • Plagiarism or self-plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or manipulation
  • Ethical breaches in research involving human subjects
